We are doing half-cross stitch in class at the moment.
We've been looking at the work of Henry Moore, one of the most famous and influential sculptors of the 20th century. We looked at his sculptures of abstract shapes and people. We did charcoal drawings of abstract 'blobs' in his style and then we made plasticine models influenced by what we had seen and drawn.
This week our theme in art was UMBRELLAS. We looked at some paintings that had umbrellas in them and then we did some drawings.
Next we did silhouettes of umbrellas using black sugar paper. Here are the results of our efforts.
César Manrique Fish
Manrique is a famous artist from Lanzarote. He did all sorts of art but the fish he painted were fantastic in every sense of the word. We looked at his pictures and then did some of our own. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD black and white versions that can be coloured on your computer.

We looked at some amazing pictures of different fungi and then did these charcoal drawings.
